Directions & Hours

Peonies start blooming about mid April with just a few varieties open so early.  Tree peonies bloom from early May on.  Then herbaceous peonies begin to bloom in abundance.  Peak bloom is usually about the last week in May though the first week of June, depending on the weather.

Directions via 1-5 and I-405

From Seattle or Everett via I-5

From I-5, exit at 164th St. SW (Exit #183), just north of the I-405 interchange, then proceed east to Mill Creek. At the end of the shopping center in Mill Creek turn right (south) on Bothell-Everett highway. Go south approximately one and a half miles to North Creek Shopping Center. You come to the stop light at the intersection of Bothell-Everett Highway and 180th St. SE. Take a left on 180th SE and proceed east about three and a half miles. You’ll see the A & D sign on the right as you near Clearview.

From Bellevue, Kirkland or Bothell via I-405

Take I-405 north to the Woodinville-Monroe exit (SR 522); once you are on SR 522 go past the Woodinville exits until you reach the exit marked “Route 9 – Arlington, Snohomish”. Take a left onto SR 9 and go north past Maltby Road to 180th St. SE in Clearview. Take a left off SR 9 onto 180th St. SE– going west. The nursery is about half a mile down the road on the left. The first sign you’ll see is the exit gate. Continue up the hill and you’ll see a bigger sign on the left, which is the entrance gate.

Open 10 am to 3 pm mid-April through June 17 or anytime by appointment. Please contact us via email. Email:

The first sign you’ll see for A & D Nursery going west on 180th is our exit. Please don’t enter there. Keep going up the hill, to the next A & D sign and take a left into the entrance. On leaving the nursery use the regular exit, which now has a partial barricade making use difficult and dangerous. Please do not take a left. Even be extra careful taking a right. Or just exit the way you came in. By the entrance. If coming from the east on 180th, the first sign you’ll see for A & D is on the right and that’s the entrance.

Fall Planting Season

Fall is the time to plant bare root peonies.  Watch for new selections on our website.  Pick your favorites from the many and give us a call to have them ready when you arrive.  This is the way to avoid a wait while we dig all the peonies on your list. A call ahead, by the way, is always appreciated just to make sure we’re not off on an errand. (360) 668-9690 If we don’t answer it’s because we’re out in the fields wrestling down slugs and weeds.
